there was just one thing that was ok, but nothing that i really liked. i called the reception to tell that i am running a bit late, so i just wanted to make sure, that i will still be able to check inn. so the service was good.
as we came to check inn, first of we coudnt find the reception, because the apartments must be somewhere else than the reception, so we were driving around sligo for one hour, asking all possible people we could find and everyone just directed us to the apartments, but we didnt get in because there was nobody at that desk in the small entrance. so i called the security number that the receptionist gave us in case of a problem, already the 10th time. first, nobody answered and than the phone was swiched of. we met another man having the same problem. but he was living in one of the apartments and not even that guy found a way to get in without the security guy... finally, after another half an hour being obviously unsure what to do and where to go, we almost missed the security guy. he passed us and just asked by chance if would know where to go to find the reception but he was responsible for all the inconvinionce and let us in. i tried to talk to him to ask what happened but he didnt appologise, even got mad at me. so he just gave me the card to our room and i asked how i am suppose to find the reception than for the check out and he said just leave the cards at the desk, and we also didnt get a apartment with a kitchen that was promised, we just had a kuttle to boil water and when we left the cards at the desks (still didnt know where the reception is) i had to call the reception to make sure they wont charge us for not checking out. so all over we almost had to go to find another hotel in the middle of the night in a town we have been to the first time. i would never reccomend that hotel/apartmentcomplex ever. i have to admid it was quite clean though. good job! worst stay i ever had.
Nice well equipped accommodation.
A little awkward getting to main hotel from suites.
The Room size was good, price Excellent. Great Idea to call the mobile number to check out.
Room was cold. No way of increasing the heat. Didn't remember when booking the hotel where we were to check in. Reception was closed on our arrival and departure.
Apartment very spacious and well equipped. Ideal for families.
It was very cold with no heat on when we arrived - icey conditions outside didn't help. No extra bed clothes so we were cold at night and no staff around to ask for blankets. Heated up a bit eventually. Pity it no longer includes access to leisure facilities in Clarion - had been the main reason we stayed there, but had to pay €12 each to use the leisure club. Apartments are great for families/groups but would benefit from more services and pity they're no longer part of hotel.
I really didn't like the accommodation, on arrival the room was freezing, no heat on, just a switch on storage heater. The place seemed cold but did suit what we needed it for just a bed for the night. The room was very clean. No hotwater! so went home without shower.
as above - another part of my group stayed in a room, one friend got her clothes tore on a wire sticking out of the mattress and guess what found an item dropped out of there! all in all an interesting weekend, but would recommend Sligo and The Clarion Hotel, but not sure about the Benbulben Suites, it will be a talking and laughing point for times to come
Good size room , comfortable beds.
Not really a hotel , just apartments near to main hotel. The fire alarm going off at 3am!!!
Spacious rooms very quiet, can use hotel facilities.
Location is a good 20 minutes walk from the centre of Sligo and a taxi costs 8 euro from the hotel which is a bit steep. The last time we stayed the apts were run by the hotel now they are run by a separate agency and the corridors feel cold and the paint work has become tired
i liked the layout of the suite and the fact we had somewhere to relax for the night, not only the room.
well every essential amenity was there....spotlessly clean.. easy accesss to the hotel,, personally I thought the food could have been a bit more creative and wider menu options....but back to the suites thought them almost too good to be true for the price..would definitelly hope to return Alan Pigott
Apartments are spacious, kitchen well equiped, modern decor. Good value for money considering the quality of the apartment and reasonable price per night.
The apartments used to be part of the Clarion hotel, but are now privately managed. Staff only around 9am-5pm. Appears that some apartments are being let long-term to students.
Visit to Sligo for some business and a soccer match. Brought 2 others with me so we decided to stay at suites.
The suites are very removed from the hotel and I thought there was no real link between the two. I think you either have it as integral to the hotel itself or have it as a quite seperate entity.
the location of our room and the size of the appartment.
Large rooms and potentially good facilities
Undrinkable water, lack of kitchen utensils, no contact number, no support from teh hotel it was supposedly attached to.
Very affordable and comfortable accomodation
Unfortunately at night the hotel became noisey
nothing about this place was worth it. The location is quite close to town. 20min walk
There were no staff on arrival the place looked closed. We then had to check in at the clarion hotel (not associated). The room looks badly kept with an uncomfortable living area. I did not see one member of staff in the four days I was there, this includes reception. As a result please do not stay here either go for a cheap appartment (which I have stayed in and are better) or go for a hotel as this place was dreadfully dissapointing.
